Located in the Wat Damnak commune, behind the Art Night Market, the
Golden Banana opened in December 2003 with a handful of staff and only
11 rooms. The hotel, built in the French Colonial Style in a tranquil
and secluded Khmer Village, has grown into a complex of three buildings
offering a separate pool, restaurant and bar. It is a few minutes stroll
across the Siem Reap River to the Old Market, shops and Pub Street
restaurants and nightlife. It is only 10 minutes drive to the
world-famous temple of Angkor Wat, Siem Reap International Airport and
Tonle Sap boat port.
